Teach a Child to Read and Write:

    EDUCATION AND LITERACY PROGRAMS

Education is a key component that brings growth and progress toward community development. Without an education, boys, and girls around the world's poorest countries stand little chance of escaping a life of hard labor, hunger, and hopelessness. Unfortunately, impoverished parents can barely afford to feed their children and have no money for schooling, around the globe.

Concern Mission supports a variety of education and literacy programs that bring young people the help, care, and instructions necessary to build a brighter future.

A $20 gift can provide a month's tuition or school supplies, and enable an eager student to learn of  Christ's Love, the One who is both "Lord and Teacher (John 13:13).

Concern Mission International works in the United States and around the world reaching teenagers and those poorest children who are missing out most on learning and education.

We are especially focused on reaching vulnerable children in rural and urban areas, where early childhood learning resources are not available. Globally, whenever a crisis situation occurs, we partner with local organizations and schools, to ensure that no child is left behind.

Youth Vocational and Employability Training:

We support disadvantaged young people to help them prepare for the labor market and increase their employment prospects.  Today, people all over the world are facing challenges when trying to find work and transition to independence. Young people who cannot count on the support network of their parents often find it particularly difficult to find decent work. (Read More)

Some of the Reasons Why We Are Concerned and Involved:

New figures on the number of children out of school worldwide reveal that, despite decades of efforts to get every child into the classroom, progress has come to a standstill. According to data from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), about 263 million children, adolescents and youth worldwide (or one in every five) are out school – a figure that has barely changed over the past five years.

The rate of progress, or the lack of it, varies by age group, according to a new UIS paper. At the primary level, the out-of-school rate has barely moved at all over the past decade, with 9% of children of primary school age (about 6 to 11 years), or 63 million, out of school. In addition, 61 million adolescents of lower secondary school age (about 12 to 14 years) and 139 million youth of upper secondary school age – or one in every three – are not enrolled in school.
